Privacy Policy

The short version: Gutter runs on your own computer. Your comics, reading history and settings stay there. We don't track you, sell data or show ads.

This policy explains what information is involved when you use the Gutter software, buy Gutter Pro, or visit this website. "We" means Kris Crowder, who makes Gutter. Contact: support@zombiex5000.com.

The Gutter software

Gutter runs entirely on your computer. Your files, your library, your reading progress, your accounts and your settings are stored there and are never sent to us. Gutter has no analytics or tracking.

Gutter only connects to other services when you use a feature that needs them:

• Finding covers and summaries online: the title you search for is sent to the service you search (Comic Vine, Wikipedia, MangaDex, AniList, MangaUpdates or MangaBaka). A Comic Vine search uses your own Comic Vine key.
• Remote access: your home's public internet address is sent to DuckDNS so your name points to your home, and your address name is sent to Let's Encrypt to get a certificate. Like all HTTPS certificates, it's published in public certificate logs. Your router is asked to open a port.
• Gutter Pro: Gutter checks your key itself, on your server. Nothing is sent to us or the store.
• Update check: once a day Gutter reads a small file from downloads.zombiex5000.com to see whether a newer version exists. Nothing about your library or users is sent; like any web request it reveals your internet address to the download host (Cloudflare). You can turn it off in Settings → Updates.

Each of those services handles the information under its own privacy policy.

Buying Gutter Pro

Purchases are handled by Stripe through Stripe Managed Payments, which acts as our reseller (merchant of record). Stripe collects your email address, billing country and payment details to process the order, under its privacy policy. We never see your card details. We receive your name, email, country and order details so we can provide your key, give support and handle refunds, and we keep them for as long as needed for that and for our tax records.

This website

This site doesn't use cookies, analytics or advertising. It's hosted by Cloudflare, which processes standard connection information (such as your IP address) to deliver the site and protect it from attacks, under Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Emails

If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply to you. We don't send marketing email unless you ask to be told about a release.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it (except what we must keep for tax records). Email support@zombiex5000.com. Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, UK or California) you may have additional rights, which we'll respect.

Children

Gutter Pro is not sold to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top.
